Janae Rose Harabedian (b. 1999) is a composer, vocalist, and performer whose work spans art song, choral, chamber music, and rock band instrumentation — drawing equally from classical, pop, and rhythmic, groove-based traditions. She was born and raised in Fresno, California, where her father, Roger Harabedian, first taught her piano and how to read music as a preschooler. She participated in choirs throughout elementary school and went on to study piano and violin as well.

Alongside music, Janae began studying dance in 2002 and trained in classical ballet for twelve years — including five years en pointe — while also exploring tap, jazz, and modern styles. In 2015 she began voice lessons with Angelica Evangelista at the Mindy Ramos Voice Studio, self-taught music theory, discovered her passion for composition, and attended the summer music program at Fresno Pacific University, where she declared a composition emphasis.

Since 2019 she has lived in the Greater Los Angeles Area. She studied classical voice with Nancy Estes and composition with Roger Przytulski at Long Beach City College from 2020–2022, earning an AA in Music and an AA in Communication. In 2022 she received an honorable mention at the Student Commercial Music Composition Competition hosted by the Music Association of California Community Colleges.

She completed her Bachelor of Music in Composition at California State University, Fullerton in Spring 2025, studying voice with Courtney Taylor and composition with Dr. Pamela Madsen. She spent a semester abroad in South Africa and was a member of the New Music Ensemble, where she collaborated with other composers and practiced musical improvisation. Janae has worked with guest artists including Sō Percussion, loadbang, Brightwork, Galan Trio, and HEX ensemble, and attended workshops with Académie Dijon (with Patricia Alessandrini and Laszlo Hudacsek) and EXPLORATORY (with Nicholas Isherwood and Dr. Camilla Hoitenga).

Her current projects include an album, an opera, a ballet, and several choral works.
